Fire threat looms with Red Flag Warning in Santa Cruz Mountains

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, Calif. (KION) A red flag warning begins at 1 a.m. Thursday for the Santa Cruz Mountain areas. The combination of strong winds and dry conditions causes the concern for fire danger.

A small vegetation fire sparked Thursday near Scotts Valley. Fire officials said it was contained at half an acre of growth.

Tonight at 5 and 6 p.m. on KION, Drew Andre has more from fire officials on what to expect in the coming days.
